  • Title
    Assistant Coach
Mark Stevens begins his second season on the Rams' coaching staff. He will serve as the team's hitting coach, bringing a wealth of college summer league and high school coaching and administrative experience to the program.

Stevens arrived at Rose Hill after splitting the previous two seasons at Iona College (2008) and Eastern Connecticut State University (2007).

In 2007, he helped lead Eastern Connecticut State to the Division III National Championship in Grande Chute, Wisconsin, where the team batted .326 for the season. The owner and instructor of The Strike Zone Baseball and Training Facility in Clinton, Connecticut, Stevens has spent five summers as a hitting coach in the wood bat New England Collegiate Baseball League (NECBL).

For four summers, he assisted former Fordham pitching coach Anthony DeCicco with the Manchester Silkworms. In 2003, he served in a similar role with the Middletown Giants of the NECBL.

Since Stevens joined the staff, Manchester qualified for its first three NECBL playoff berths. In 2006, the Silkworms led the league with a .279 team batting average - 20 points higher than their nearest competitor.

With Stevens in 2003, Middletown also qualified for postseason play. Stevens' baseball resume also includes two seasons (2004-05) as assistant coach at Division II University of Bridgeport and one season (2006) as head coach at Old Saybrook High School. To date, he has coached over 30 players who have gone on to sign professional contracts.

As a player, Stevens played college baseball at Quinnipiac University and Housatonic Community College. He currently resides in Clinton, Connecticut, with his wife, Linda, his son, Kyle, and daughter, Samantha.
