Membership Brochure (PDF)
Built in 1976, the recreational facility is named in honor of Vincent Lombardi, FC ’37, who was a trustee and member of the Pro Football Hall of Fame. It contains a 220-yard running track, an indoor tennis court, a 38-meter, eight-lane swimming pool, competition diving facilities, weight rooms, five squash courts, locker rooms, and sauna.
In the summer of 1999, the field house underwent a renovation with new lighting, ventilation and flooring being installed. In 2008, the Messmore Aquatic Center added a water polo scoreboard to its many features, becoming a multi-purpose facility for both the water polo and swimming & diving programs.
Then in 2010, the squash courts were completely re-designed to create regulation-sized courts with the ability to host matches for the Fordham Squash team, as well as serve of home for the City Squash program for young adults and children. In 2015, a Daktronics sound system was installed at the Messmore Aquatic Center, while the Lombardi Fieldhouse was completely resurfaced.
