2012: Appeared in ten games as a junior.
2011: Appeared in seven games as a sophomore, making one start... caught three passes for 21 yards... had two receptions for 12 yards at Penn... caught one pass for nine yards in the Bucknell game.
2010: Did not see varsity action... appeared with the junior varsity... caught six passes for 99 yards in three junior varsity games... hauled in four passes for 94 yards in a game with the Princeton JV.
Before Fordham: A graduate of St. Mary High School in Rutherford, New Jersey, where he played for head coach Mike Sheridan at wide receiver and cornerback... a 2009 All-Bergen County Second Team selection... named Third Team All-Area by the Star Ledger... a First Team All-Bergen County Scholastic League pick at defensive back... made eleven catches for 190 yards and one touchdown in a game versus Paterson Catholic... 2007 Honorable Mention All-County pick... also a member of the basketball, baseball and track teams at St. Mary... served as a basketball team captain... member of the National Honor Society.
Personal: Son of Janet and Jim Spanarkel... father was an All-American basketball player at Duke who was a first round draft choice by the Philadelphia 76ers... has an older brother, James, and two older sisters, Bridget and Stephanie, a 2012 Fordham graduate...a Business Administration major.
