Biography
Earned Second Team All-Patriot League honors in 2013… a two-year starter at linebacker… third on the team in total tackles last fall… moved into the starting lineup at an inside linebacker position as a sophomore in 2012… finished fourth on the 2012 squad in total tackles… got collegiate career off to a good start before suffering an injury in the fourth game of 2011 that forced him to miss rest of year… was able to return for spring practice, recording a solo tackle in the 2012 Spring Game… three-time All-District selection in high school.
2013: Started all 14 games as a junior… earned Second Team All-Patriot League accolades… recorded 80 total tackles, including 53 solo, and 2.0 tackles for loss… third on team in total tackles… opened season with ten tackles, nine solo, against Rhode Island… made eight tackles, seven solo, in the NCAA FCS second round championship game at Towson… had seven stops, five solo, and intercepted a pass at Yale… made seven stops, five solo, including 0.5 for loss at Temple… made seven tackles, four solo, versus Bucknell… had six tackles, three solo, at Lafayette and six more, including two solo and one for loss, at Colgate… registered six stops, three solo, in NCAA FCS first round championships win over Sacred Heart… finished with three tackles at Saint Francis… recorded eight stops, seven solo, and broke up a pass vs. Lehigh… finished with six stops, thee solo, vs. Sacred Heart.
2012: Started all eleven games at linebacker as a sophomore… recorded 68 total tackles, including 40 solo, and 3.5 tackles for loss with one sack… finished fourth on team in tackles… also had one interception, four pass breakups and one fumble recovery… recorded a career-high 12 tackles, three solo, at Columbia and also forced a fumble… finished with nine stops, six solo, and intercepted a pass at Lehigh… registered seven tackles, four solo, at Cincinnati… made six stops, five solo, and broke up two passes against Lafayette… had six tackles, five solo, at Holy Cross… made six tackles, four solo, at Villanova… had six stops, three solo, versus Georgetown… made six solo tackles at Bucknell, including two for loss… notched five stops, two solo, in the opener with Lock Haven.
2011: Appeared in first four games of the season as a freshman before suffering a season-ending injury… made seven solo tackles in the four games, including one for loss… made two solo stops in the season opener at Connecticut… also made two solo tackles, including one for loss, in the win over Columbia, and two more at Rhode Island.
Before Fordham: A graduate of Peters Township High School in McMurray, Pennsylvania, where he was a member of the football and baseball teams… played football for head coach Nick Milchovich… an Elite 11 Football Almanac Athlete of the Year finalist… a three-time All-Conference and All-District pick in football… named Preseason Elite 11 by the Observer-Reporter… named Preseason Fab 22 by the Pittsburgh Post-Gazette… a 2010 Army Junior U.S. All-American Combine invitee… ranked third in passing in the WPIAL (AAAA)… ranks third on the Peters Township all-time passing list and fifth on the school’s all-time rushing list… served as a team captain.. twice named All-Conference in baseball.
Personal: Son of Amy and Ed Hancock… has two siblings, Bryce and Jayce… a Business Administration major.
