Biography
A two-year starter at safety… gives the Rams a strong presence in the defensive backfield… seventh on the team in total tackles in 2013… started 12 games as a junior and all eleven games at strong safety as a sophomore… fifth on the squad in total tackles… enjoyed a successful freshman campaign, moving into the starting lineup during the season… fourth leading freshman tackler on the 2011 squad… an All-State performer in high school.
2013: Appeared in 13 games as a junior, starting 12… compiled 64 total tackles, 48 solo, including 3.0 for loss and 1.0 sacks… also had one interception, three pass breakups, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery… was seventh on team in total tackles… tied career-high in season opener with Rhode Island with nine total tackles, seven solo, including one for loss and intercepted a pass… made six stops, five solo and one for loss, in win over Columbia… had seven stops at Saint Francis… finished with six solo tackles and a forced fumble vs. Bucknell… made eight tackles, seven solo, against Lehigh… had five stops, two solo, at Georgetown… made four stops at Yale, including a sack.
2012: Started all eleven games at strong safety as a sophomore… registered 55 total tackles, 36 solo, including two for loss… also had two interceptions, three pass breakups and a fumble recovery… made a career-high nine tackles, five solo, at Lehigh… tied his career-high with nine more tackles, six solo, in the win over Georgetown… made six tackles, five solo, against Cornell and added a quarterback hurry… closed out season with six stops, three solo, against Colgate and also intercepted a pass, which led to a Fordham touchdown, and recovered a fumble… finished with five tackles, two solo, at Columbia… had five stops, including 0.5 for loss, at Bucknell… made five solo tackles and intercepted a pass versus Lafayette… made three solo stops in both NCAA FCS championship games.
2011: Appeared in ten games as a freshman for the Rams, starting four… recorded 22 total tackles, 14 solo, including one for loss… also had one pass breakup and recovered a fumble… made season-high six tackles, two solo, versus Lehigh… finished with five stops, four solo, and broke up a pass at Penn… registered four solo tackles at Colgate… made a pair of tackles in the season opener at Connecticut, including one for loss.
Before Fordham: A graduate of Portage High School in Portage, Indiana, where he lettered in football, basketball and track… played football for head coach Jeremy Flowers… earned Prime Time 25 Indiana First Team All-State honors at running back as a senior… selected to play in the 2011 North-South All-Star Game… an Honorable Mention All-State selection as a junior… named Porter County All-Area for three years… named Duneland Athletic All-Conference for two years… Duneland Conference MVP in 2009… senior year stats: 240 carries, 1,518 yards, 17 TDs; 24 receptions, 152 yards, 1 TD… set a school record with 378 rushing yards against Chesteron in 2010… named Mr. Football in 2010… junior year stats: 186 carries, 1,224 yards, 18 TDs, 17 catches, 374 yards, 3 TDs, 2 kickoff returns for TDs... 2009 and 2010 team captain… 2009 and 2010 offensive and team MVP… section champion in the 100m (10.92) and long jump (22’ 8”) and 4x100 relay in 2010… state finalist in the long jump in 2010… 2010 track team MVP… sections and regional champion with the 4x100 (42.35) in 2011… state finalist in the 100m in 2011… member of the school record setting 4x100 and 4x200 relays… served as Peer Tutor.
