Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham volleyball squad continues its 2026 season by hosting the St. John's University Red Storm on Tuesday, September 8, in the historic Rose Hill Gym.
The Rams enter the match with a 4-2 record after going 1-1 at the Delaware Invitational last Friday, defeating New Haven, 3-1, and falling to Delaware, 3-2. St. John's is also 4-2 on the season and is coming off a 2-1 showing at the Lou Carnesecca Invitational at St. John's with wins over Rider (3-0) and UAB (3-1) and a loss to East Texas A&M (3-1).

- This will be the 22nd meeting all-time between Fordham and St. John's, the first since 2021.
NEWS & NOTES
- The opponent will be a familiar one for first year Fordham head coach Bryan Weber, who spent the last 11 seasons at St. John's as an assistant coach and associate head coach. Prior to St. John's, he was an assistant coach at his alma mater, New Paltz.
- Fordham was picked tenth in the preseason Atlantic 10 coaches poll.
- Last season, the Rams set multiple team blocking records, including total blocks at 303. Fordham tallied 17 games with 10 or more blocks, and broke the total blocks record in 15 fewer sets than the 2005 Rams.
- Despite missing a portion of the year with an injury, Tatum Holderied still managed to set the single season block assists record with 144 in 2025, while her 1.83 blocks per set were the second-best mark in school history. She also currently holds the career blocks per set record at 1.38.
- Whitney Woodrow has now amassed 2,144 career assists, placing her ninth on the Fordham career list. Currently, only five Rams have reached the 3,000-assist mark.
- St. John's is guided by head coach Joanne Persico who is in her 33rd year with the Red Storm.St. John's was picked eighth in BIG EAST Preseason Coaches Poll.
WHAT'S NEXT
- Following the St. John's match, the Rams return when they travel north to Rhode Island to participate in the Bryant Invitational on September 11 and 12. The Rams open play by facing Marist on Friday at 7:00 p.m. and then take on Merrimack on Saturday at 12:30 p.m. and then Bryant at 4:00 p.m.
