Lewisburg, Pa. – The Fordham water polo squad, ranked fifth in the nation, kept its MWAPC winning streak alive on Saturday, winning three conference games at the Bucknell Invitational. The Rams defeated Bucknell, 21-11, Mount St. Mary's, 23-5, and Mercyhurst, 26-3.
 
The wins improve Fordham's record to 9-0 on the season and extends the Rams' conference winning streak to 48 straight regular season wins over MAWPC opponents.
 
Game 1 – Fordham 21, Bucknell 11
• The score was tied at six midway through the second quarter when the Rams closed out the half with three unanswered goals, one each from freshman Diego Tresa, freshman Karlo Dragosevic, and junior Luca Provenziani to take a 9-6 lead at the break.
 
• The Rams extended the lead to 10-6 on a goal from sophomore Alessandro Salipante 38 seconds into the third quarter and then scored three straight later in the quarter to turn a 12-8 lead into a 15-8 lead.
 
• Junior Andras Toth led the Rams in scoring with four goals while freshman Petar Kulas, Dragosevic, Tresa, and Provenziani each added three.
 
Game 2 – Fordham 23, Mount St. Mary's 5
• Fordham scored the first nine goals of the match and never looked back.
 
• Kulas accounted for four of the Rams' tallies while Salipante added three.
 
• 13 different Rams scored at least one goal.
 
Game 3 – Fordham 26, Mercyhurst 3
• Similar to game two, the Rams jumped out to a commanding 15-0 lead at the half.
 
• Sophomore Charlie Martin, along with Tresa, led Fordham with four goals each while sophomore Soren Jessen added three.
 
• 13 different Rams scored at least one goal.
 
What's Next?
• The Rams head west for three matches next weekend, starting with a game at top-ranked UCLA on Friday, September 25, at 8:00 p.m. EST
 
• Fordham will also at #6 Long Beach State (Sunday at 3:00 p.m.) and #16 Cal Baptist (Monday at 2:00 p.m.) on the trip.
