Davidson, N.C. – Davidson College is located by Lake Norman, North Carolina's largest manmade lake. The lake was created to generate hydroelectric power and provide water for the McGuire Nuclear Station. As such, steam vents from energy production on the lake produce "hot spots" in the lake. One of those hot spots seemed to hit Davidson in the second half as the Wildcats used a 12-0 run to erase a 40-31 deficit and held on for a 68-63 Atlantic 10 win over Fordham in Belk Arena.
With the loss, Fordham evens its record at 10-10 overall, 1-6 in the Atlantic 10, while Davidson improves to 12-6 overall, 4-2 in the conference.
Grad student guard
Dejour Reaves led the Rams with a game-high 22 points, shooting 9-for-14 from the field, while junior center
Jack Whitbourne added eleven points
How it Happened
• The Rams led by nine, their biggest lead of the night, 40-31, following a Reaves three-point play with 15:01 remaining.
• The Fordham offense then got cold as the Wildcats heated up, scoring 12 straight to take a 43-40 lead at the 8:37 mark.
• A
Christian Henry layup halted the Davidson run and started an 8-5 run for the Rams as Fordham tied the game at 48 on a Reaves driving layup with 4:54 remaining.
• The Wildcats regained the lead 12 seconds later on a three-point play but a Reaves jumper in the paint with 4:18 left pulled the Rams within one, 51-50.
• But Davidson would get the lead to six, 59-53, two minutes later and the closets the Ram would get from there was three, 66-63, on a Henry three with four seconds left.

• Davidson entered the game with nine players averaging at least 15 minutes per game this year but no one averaging more than 25.
