#4 Water Polo Takes Down Santa Clara, 20-15

Princeton, N.J. – (September 7, 2025) – Behind strong performances from its sophomore duo of Andras Toth and Luca Provenziani, the fourth-ranked Fordham water polo team defeated Santa Clara, 20-15, to cap the Princeton Invitational on Sunday morning.
 
The Rams are now 5-1 on the season.
 
THE GAME

• Fordham opened with a 7-3 lead after the first quarter, as the Rams got back-to-back goals from Alessandro Salipante in the final two minutes to go up four.
• Santa Clara closed within two, 10-8, at halftime before Fordham put seven goals on the board in the third quarter to take control of the game at 17-10.Andras Toth netted four of the seven goals in the quarter for the Rams.

GAME NOTES

• Andras Toth scored a game-high six goals, while Luca Silvestri had four goals, two assists, and four steals.
• Luca Provenziani dished out a career-high nine assists to go with a pair of goals.
• Alessandro Salipante also added a hat trick with Barnabas Eppel having two goals.
• Mark Dyck, Marco Napolitano, and Diego Tresa had the remaining goals for Fordham.
• Matthew Bonello DuPuis and Kristof Magony each played a half in goal.

WHO'S NEXT

• The Rams begin MAWPC action with a road match at Mercyhurst on September 20^th and then have games against Bucknell and Mt. St. Mary's on September 21^st as a part of the Bucknell Invitational.
