Bridgeport, Pa. – (September 3, 2025) – The first set of weekly water polo awards from the MAWPC were released on Wednesday with Fordham's
Barnabas Eppel (Budapest, Hungary) earning Player of the Week honors, while
Diego Tresa (Rome, Italy) received Rookie of the Week accolades.
Eppel led Fordham to a 4-0 week at the Bruno Classic, extending its regular season win streak to 38 games, dating back to 2023. He totaled eight goals, three assists, and four steals over four contests to go with six drawn exclusions. Eppel opened the season with two goals and an assist versus MIT, followed by two goals, an assist, and two steals at #18 Harvard. On Sunday, he posted his first hat trick of the year to go with two steals in a win over #9 Pacific, while registering a goal and an assist versus LIU.
Tresa quickly made the transition from the U18 Euros to NCAA competition this week at the Bruno Classic. He netted seven goals, three assists, and six steals in the Rams' 4-0 start to the season and also drew six exclusions. He had two goals in games against MIT and #9 Pacific, while recording his first hat trick against LIU and added an assist and two steals.
The Rams will take part in the Princeton Invitational, September 6-7. Fordham will face defending national champion and top ranked UCLA on September 6
th and Santa Clara on September 7
th. The Rams will also have an exhibition contest against FTC (Ferencvaros), a Hungarian-based club team that recently won the Champions League, on September 6
th.
