WASHINGTON – Following a weekend that saw her break the program record for total blocks in a match, Fordham University Volleyball saw junior middle blocker Tatum Holderied named Atlantic 10 Defensive Player of the Week Tuesday afternoon.
Starting off the season in grand style, Holderied tallied a whopping 15.0 total blocks in Friday's regular season opener at Binghamton, a five-set thriller that saw her break the previous best mark of 13 total blocks by Chloe Pejouan on Sept. 20, 2019.
In the process, Holderied also helped the Rams to a program record 18.0 team blocks on the night as well, besting the 17.5 the Rams rejected against Rhode Island on Sept. 22, 2018. Averaging 2.27 blocks per set across the three matches on opening weekend, Holderied also posted four blocks against Lehigh and six against UConn on Saturday.
Holderied and the Rams make the short trip down to Columbia University this Friday-Saturday for the three matches beginning with a date against Northeastern Friday at 11:00 a.m. in Upper Manhattan.
