Stony Brook, N.Y. – The digital traffic signs on the Long Island Expressway on the way to today's Fordham-Stony Brook football game warned travelers of a possible LIRR strike on Thursday and urged them to avoid traffic by carpooling. For the first half, the Stony Brook defense made the Fordham offense feel as if its were driving the LIE at rush hour traffic. The Fordham offense came alive in the second half but it wasn't enough as the Rams fell to the Seawolves, 41-18, at LaValle Stadium.
 
With the loss, Fordham falls to 0-3 on the year while Stony Brook improves to 1-2.
 
Fordham grad student linebacker James Conway led all tacklers in the game with 15 stops and he intercepted pass which the Rams turned into their first points in the game.
 
How it Happened
• Stony Brook held a 13-0 lead at the break before Fordham converted Conway's third quarter interception to a Henderson field goal to narrow the deficit to 13-3.
 
• The Rams recovered a fumble on the ensuing kickoff and got on the scoreboard again on a 35-yard scoring strike from Gunnar Smith to Troy Worrell less than a minute later to make it a three-point game, 13-10.
 
• On their next possession, Stony Brook scored on a 93-yard touchdown pass to go up 20-10, the first of 28 straight points for the Seawolves.

• Conway entered the game leading all active NCAA Div. I tacklers in career stops.
 
• Conway recorded his third straight double-digit tackle game and 31st the of his career.

• Freshman receiver Troy Worrell scored his second touchdown in as many games.
 
• Jacob Rodriguez scored his second collegiate touchdown on a two-yard run in the fourth quarter.
 
• Fordham won the time of possession battle 32:52 to 27:08.
