#3 Water Polo Completes 4-0 Weekend at Bruno Classic

Providence, R.I. – (August 31, 2025) – The third-ranked Fordham water polo team completed a perfect weekend at the Bruno Classic on Sunday at Brown University.  The Rams opened the day with an 18-14 win over ninth-ranked Pacific, followed by a 25-5 victory over LIU.

GAME 1 vs. #9 Pacific

• Leading 3-2 after the first quarter, Fordham scored the first three goals of the second quarter to build up a 6-2 lead.
• Pacific got within two at 8-6, but a goal by Barnabas Eppel with 0.1 seconds left in the quarter left Fordham ahead 9-6 at the half.That goal was the first of five consecutive markers as the Rams scored the opening four goals of the third quarter for a 13-6 lead.
• The Tigers got within three, but no closer as Fordhm went on to the 18-14 victory.
• Andras Toth netted a game-high five goals for Fordham, while Luca Silvestri had three goals and five assists.
• Eppel also had a hat trick in the game with Luca Provenziani adding four goals, two assists, and two steals
• Matthew Bonello DuPuis played the majority of the game in goal, posting nine saves.

GAME 2 vs. LIU

• The match was all in favor of the Rams, scoring seven times in the first and second quarters, while netting six in the third, and five in the fourth.
• The Rams' defense was on lockdown, allowing only one goal in the second half.
• West Gartland, Andras Toth, Soren Jessen, Alessandro Salipante, and Diego Tresa all had hat tricks for the Rams.
• Kristof Magony played the first three quarters in net, while Panayiotis Giannas finished the final quarter. 

WHO'S NEXT

• The Rams will take part in the Princeton Invitational, September 6-7.Fordham will face defending national champion UCLA on September 6^th and Santa Clara on September 7^th.The Rams will also have an exhibition contest against FTC (Ferencvaros), a Hungarian-based club team that recently won the Champions League, on September 6^th.
