Bronx, N.Y. – As we start week three of the 2025 Fordham football camp we continue our position-by-position breakdown of the Rams, highlighting the middle of the defense, the linebackers.
The Fordham linebacker unit returns multiple starters with the key cog being graduate student
James Conway. Last year Conway became Fordham's and the Patriot League's all-time leading as he enters the 2025 season with 436 career stops. Despite being limited to four games in 2024, he still earned All-Patriot League honors, becoming the 29
th player in Patriot League history to earn All-League honors four times.
Conway is joined by junior
Andrew Osmun, who moves from the defensive backfield to linebacker. He started the first four games of the season at safety before suffering a season-ending injury, recording 24 tackles, 12 solo, including one for loss.
Senior
Nick Pasquarella, who appeared in eight games as a junior, making three starts at linebacker also returns. He compiled 17 total tackles, ten solo, including one for loss.
Fellow senior
Patrick Nichols, who did not see action as a junior, also returns for the Rams in 2025.
Juniors
Justin Fontana and
Sean Maguire, who did not see action as sophomores, also return for the Rams.
Returning sophomores at linebacker include
Jaylen Dawson, who had a strong freshman season, appearing in eleven games, starting seven, and recording 52 total tackles, 30 solo, including 5.5 for loss and one sack,
Christian Black, who appeared in five games as a freshman, and
Alex Fiala, who did not see action as freshman.
The lone newcomer at linebacker is freshman
Tavian Fenderson, a First Team Northeast Prep All-Conference performer at Phillips Exeter in 2024.
