BRONX, N.Y. – The Fordham men's soccer program hosted its inaugural golf outing last month at Westchester Hills Golf Club, raising more than $25,000 to support the Rams heading into the 2025 campaign.
"I want to thank each and every person that came out and supported our golf outing in its first year," said Head Coach
Carlo Acquista. "It's incredible to see the support that this program has from its alumni and the fans who have backed us over the years. I wanted to give a special thank you to our athletic development team and the staff at Westchester Hills who help put on a first-rate event."
In its first year, the outing attracted more than 50 golfers to Westchester Hills Golf Club in White Plains on May 27. The cohort featured alumni spanning six decades of Fordham Men's Soccer history.
This past season, Acquista's sixth at the helm of the Rams, Fordham received the program's sixth all-time NCAA bid. It marked just the second time in program history that Fordham earned an at-large selection to the field of 48.
Playing the nation's seventh toughest schedule, the Rams picked up three results against nationally ranked opponents, including handing eventual Atlantic 10 Champion Dayton its only loss in league play.
Daniel D'Ippolito became just the second player in program history to be named the Atlantic 10 Midfielder of the Year after ranking third nationally with 35 points on 14 goals and seven assists. His 14 goals were the most by a Fordham player since John Wolyniec scored 25 times in 1998. He was named a College Sports Communicators Third Team Academic All-American, becoming the third Fordham player to earn the distinction since Acquista became the program's head coach in 2019.
