Bronx, N.Y. – (May 11, 2025) – Dayton's Ryan MacDougall recorded his third home run in two days and drove in four runs, as the Flyers knocked off the Fordham Rams, 8-3, at Houlihan Park on Sunday afternoon.
The loss by Fordham along with other results has created four-way tie for the final two playoff spots with George Washington, Richmond, and Dayton.
The Rams opened with a 1-0 lead in the second inning, as
Anthony Grabau doubled with one out, moved to third on a single by
Matt Dieguez, and scored on a ground out by
Madden Ocko.
Dayton answered with two runs in the third, highlighted by an RBI-single by Ryan MacDougall. The Flyers then scored six times in the fourth inning to open up an 8-1 advantage. McDougall was once again at the center of the action, hitting a three-run home run to right, his eighth of the year.
Fordham got single runs in the fourth and seventh innings to pull within five at 8-3, but were unable to get any closer.
Aidan Dowd (3-6) took the loss, allowing five runs on seven hits over 3.1 innings of work. At the plate, Dieguez was 2-for-3 with a run scored, while
Tommy McAndrews also had two hits.
Taylor Kirk finished 1-for-4 with an RBI-double, extending his on-base streak to 40 games.
The Rams hit the road for the final four games of the regular season, starting at Marist on Tuesday, May 13
th at 3:00 PM.
