Baseball Falls to Davidson in Series Finale

Rams To Conclude Homestand on Wednesday Against Columbia

Bronx, N.Y. – (April 5, 2025) – Davidson's Isaac Fix and Ed Hall combined to hold the Fordham baseball team to six hits over eight innings, as the Wildcats completed a series sweep of the Rams, 12-1, in eight innings at Houlihan Park.

The Rams looked primed to score right out of the gate, loading the bases in the first inning with no outs on two infield singles and a walk.  However, Davidson pitch Isaac Fix worked his way out of the situation with two strikeouts and a pop out.

The Wildcats used that momentum to score four times in the second inning for the initial lead.  Fordham got one of those runs back in the bottom of the inning on a sacrifice fly by Taylor Kirk, which scored Tommy McAndrews, who reached on an error.

Davidson added to its lead in the third with two runs to go up by a 6-1 count.

A six-run eighth inning would finish the scoring for Davidson and invoke the 10-run rule for a 12-1 win.

Chase Hanawalt (0-1) took the loss for Fordham, allowing four runs over two innings.  Reid Lapekas had two of the Rams' six hits on the afternoon with Kirk, Cian Sahler, Andrew Kanellis, and Jack Brennan having the remaining four.

Fordham will next be in action on Wednesday, April 9th for a 4:00 PM home contest against Columbia at Houlihan Park.
