WASHINGTON (March 12, 2025) – After taking down Rhode Island in its postseason opener on Wednesday, the Fordham men's basketball team will return to action on Thursday evening when they take on seventh-seeded George Washington in the second round of the Atlantic 10 Men's Basketball Championship at Capital One Arena.

The game will air live on USA Network and 90.7 FM WFUV beginning at 5 p.m.

The Rams' (12-20) 88-71 victory over Rhode Island marked the fourth consecutive season in which Fordham has won an A-10 Tournament game.  A win on Thursday would clinch a spot in the quarterfinals for the third time in the last four seasons and would mark the program's first time winning multiple A-10 Tournament games in the same season since 2005-06.

Against URI, Fordham was propelled by the veteran backcourt duo of Jackie Johnson III and Japhet Medor, who combined for 55 of the team's 88 points.  Johnson finished with 29 points on 11-of-21 shooting, his 15th game of the season cracking the 20-point mark and his third with 29 or more.  The senior from Wichita, Kan., also grabbed five boards and dished out three assists.  Medor finished with 26 points on 6-of-12 shooting, including a 3-of-5 showing from deep.  The graduate student went a perfect 11-of-11 from the charity stripe.

Romad Dean tallied 14 points and six rebounds while Joshua Rivera added 11 points and seven boards.  Abdou Tsimbila recorded six points, seven rebounds and three blocks.

George Washington enters the A-10 Tournament with a record of 20-11, including a 9-9 mark in the league.  The Revolutionaries are led by Second Team All-Atlantic 10 selection Rafael Castro, who leads the team in both scoring (13.9 ppg) and rebounding (9.3 rpg), the latter of which also tops the league.

The Revolutionaries ended their regular season with an 81-58 win over Fordham at the Rose Hill Gym on March 5.

The teams will meet for the 46th time in the history of the two programs, a series that favors GW, 32-13.  Before falling in the Bronx last week, Fordham had won three straight against GW dating back to 2021-22.

The winner of Thursday's tilt between the Rams and Revolutionaries will take on second-seeded George Mason in the quarterfinal round on Friday at 5 p.m. on USA Network.
