Baseball Falls to Indiana

Rams Conclude Weekend with a Sunday Doubleheader Againt Northwestern

Cary, N.C. – (February 22, 2025) – Indiana's Gavin Seebold allowed just one earned run over six innings wth seven strikeouts, while Korbyn Dickerson had a home run and four RBI, as the Hoosiers posted a 15- win over the Fordham Rams at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C.
 
The game opened with each team scoring twice in the first inning.  Indiana picked up an RBI-ground out and an RBI-single for their two runs, while Fordham scored a run on an error and then on a sacrifice fly by Reid Lapekas.
 
Things turned in favor of Indiana in the third, as the Hoosiers loaded the bases with two outs.  The Rams looked like they might get out of the jam, as Andrew Wiggins lined a ball to center, but Cian Sahler missed the catch, allowing three runs to score for a 5-2 advantage.
 
Indiana then scored four times in the fifth for a 9-2 lead.  Dickerson later followed with a two-run home run in the seventh, extending the lead to 11-2, before four runs in the eighth finished the scoring.
 
The Rams had a rough time at the plate, managing five hits in the game, led by Taylor Kirk, who was 2-for-3 with a run scored.  Madden Ocko, Tommy Markey, and Anthony Grabau had the remaining hits for Fordham.  Robbie Stewart (0-1) took the loss, allowing two earned runs over 2.2 innings of work with three strikeouts.
 
Fordham finishes its weekend at the USA Baseball National Training Complex in Cary, N.C. on Sunday, February 23rd with a 9:30 AM doubleheader against Northwestern.  Game one will be a seven-inning game with game two being a nine-inning contest.
