BRONX, N.Y. (Feb. 21, 2025) – The Fordham men's basketball team will return to the friendly confines of the Rose Hill Gym on Saturday when it welcomes Davidson for an Atlantic 10 showdown.

Tip-off is set for 2 p.m. on ESPN+ with Andrew Bogusch and Andrew Posadas on the call.  The game will also be carried on 90.7 FM WFUV Nick Guzman and Lou Orlando narrating the action from the Rose Hill Gym.

Fordham will celebrate Arthur Ave. Day on Saturday, as several local restaurants and businesses will set up tables in the Rose Hill Gym.

Fordham (11-15, 3-10 A-10) will welcome the Wildcats following back-to-back road losses at Richmond and Duquesne.  In their most recent falter on Saturday night in Pittsburgh, the Rams were tied at the half before the Dukes jumped out to a nine-point lead in the opening 5:02 of the second stanza.  Duquesne managed to keep the Rams at bay the rest of the way, as its lead never fell below four before the final buzzer sounded.

Playing against the school at which he started his collegiate career, Jackie Johnson III scored a game-high 20 points on 7-of-13 shooting.  The senior went 2-of-3 from deep and 4-of-4 from line in addition to swiping three steals.  The effort marked Johnson's 13th 20-point performance of the season, the highest such total by a Fordham player since Branden Frazier reached the mark 17 times in 2013-14.  Saturday will be a showdown between the A-10's two leading scorers, as Johnson ranks second in the league with 18.8 points per game, trailing only Davidson's Reed Bailey (19.8 ppg).

Three other Rams finished in double figures against the Dukes.  Graduate student Matt Zona connected on three 3-pointers on his way to 12 points while Japhet Medor and Joshua Rivera posted 10 points apiece.  Medor reached double figures for the 12th straight game while Rivera scored 10 or more for the ninth straight contest.  Medor added eight assists, one shy of his season high.  In A-10 play, Medor is averaging 16.2 points, 4.7 assists and just 1.5 turnovers per game.  Those numbers are good for seventh in the league in scoring, fourth in assists and third in assist-to-turnover ratio (3.1).  Over his last eight games, Rivera is averaging 13.8 points per contest and shooting 50.0% (42-84) from the field.

Davidson comes to the Bronx with an overall record of 15-11, 5-8 in the league.  The Wildcats are 2-4 in the month of February, including consecutive home losses to George Washington and Loyola Chicago in their last two games.  In the team's most recent outing against the Ramblers, Bailey led the way with 19 points, 14 rebounds and five assists for his third double-double of the season.  Connor Kochera added 13 points in the loss.

The Wildcats took the first meeting between the two teams on Jan. 11 in North Carolina, as Bailey scored 23 points and Kochera chipped in 20.  Sophomore forward Bobby Durkin added a 15-point, 13-rebound double-double.

Fordham is 4-17 all-time against Davidson in a series that dates back to 1966.  All but one of those meetings have come since the Wildcats joined the Atlantic 10 for the 2014-15 academic year.  The Rams' most recent win in the series occurred last March in the opening game of the Atlantic 10 Tournament when Fordham erased a 13-point second half deficit before taking down the Wildcats, 71-63, in overtime.
