Hempstead, N.Y. - Taking a trip out to Long Island Saturday afternoon, Fordham University women's basketball takes on Hofstra at 2:00 p.m. on FloCollege and MSG2.

The Rams (6-4, 0-1) are coming off of a 73-55 loss at George Mason in the Atlantic 10 opener on Wednesday in Virginia. Hofstra (1-5) is looking to snap a four-game losing streak, falling in a pair of games against No. 7 Maryland and East Carolina last weekend in the Discover Puerto Rico Shootout.

Fordham holds an 11-8 edge in the all-time series against the Pride, facing off for the first time in five years. Fordham has won the last two games back in 2020, 72-58 and in 2014, 60-46, with both games held at the Rose Hill Gym. The last win for Hofstra in the series came in the most recent meeting on Long Island, a 77-64 win for the Pride in Hempstead in 2013.

Saturday will be the final game for the Rams before a 15-day break from action, and their seventh game amidst a stretch where they've played five of seven on the road, beginning with the Rams' first trip to Buffalo back on Nov. 16, and concluding this afternoon at Hofstra.

As a team, the Rams are 12th amongst all Division I teams, averaging 17.3 offensive rebounds per game, and rank 50th nationally in overall rebounds at 42.00, both second best in the A-10. Fordham's defense leads the A-10 holding opponents to just 35.8% shooting on the year, 57th best in the country. They also sit 85th in the country in steals per game at 10.2/game, second best in the league as well, and 85th in the country in turnovers forced per game, leading the conference, forcing opponents into 20.00 turnovers per game.

Scoring in double figures in each of her first 10 games as a Ram, Alexis Black paces the Rams offense, leading the nation in free throws made with 70 on the year, and is seventh amongst all Division I players with 209 points scored, averaging 20.9 points per game, 18th best in the nation. She also ranks 26th in the country with 25 three pointers made, 41st in the country in steals with 24, and 55th in assists with 40.

Taking a 15-day break from action as the fall semester winds down, Fordham women's basketball is back in action Sunday, Dec. 21 with the final non-conference game of the regular season, hosting St. Francis at the Rose Hill Gym at 1:00 p.m.
