Men’s Basketball Opens A-10 Season at Dayton on Wednesday

Rams take on Flyers on ESPN+

BRONX – The Fordham University Rams continue the 2025-2026 season, Fordham's 123rd season of basketball, and open Atlantic 10 play, on Wednesday, December 31, as they travel to Dayton, Ohio, to take on the University of Dayton Flyers in the UD Arena at 2:00 p.m.
 
The game will be broadcast on ESPN+ with Alex Mikos (PxP) and Brooks Hall (analyst) announcing as well as broadcast on WFUV (90.7 FM) and the WFUV Sports YouTube page with Joe Henry (PxP) behind the mic.
 
Fordham enters the game with a 9-4 record after an 65-47 home win over the University of New Haven on December 22 while Dayton is also 9-4 on the season following a 64-61 home loss to Liberty on December 20.
 
Wednesday afternoon's game will be the 44th meeting between Fordham and Dayton on the hardwood.  The Flyers lead the all-time series, which started in 1952-53, 37-6, and have won 21 of the last 22 match-ups.

Notes
• Junior forward Rikus Schulte is averaging 13.0 ppg and 10.3 rpg over the past nine games with six double-doubles during that time frame.
 
• Schulte is shooting .685 (50-73) over that stretch and .641 (66-103) on the season.
 
• Senior guard Christian Henry is averaging 16.3 ppg over the past six contests, including a career-high 29 points against UAlbany (he left the New Haven game early with an injury).
 
• Henry is also averaging 6.3 apg over the last six, including tying his career-high with nine helpers vs. Manhattan.
 
• Redshirt freshman Abass Bodija is averaging 8.4 ppg over the past five contests, shooting .667 (18-27) from the field over that stretch.
 
• Grad student guard Dejour Reaves has scored in double figures in all 12 games he has appeared in.
 
• Dayton took last year game, 93-76, in the Rose Hill Gym on February 12 as Malachi Smith scored a team-high 18
 
• The 2025-26 Fordham squad features nine new players including eight transfers.
 
• Of the eight transfers, three are grad transfers.
 
• The Rams are represented by three captains this year: grad guards Marcus Greene and Dejour Reaves, and junior forward Rikus Schulte.
