Women's Basketball Makes First Road Trip Sunday at Buffalo

The Rams take on the Bulls at 2:00 p.m. on ESPN+

Buffalo, N.Y.  – Hitting the road for the first time this season, Fordham University women's basketball (3-1) heads upstate for a meeting with Buffalo (0-3) Sunday at 2:00 p.m.

The game will air on ESPN+ with the Bulls' Paul Peck and Jared Zeidman on the call of the action. Riding a 3-1 start to the campaign, the Rams open a two-game road trip coming off back-to-back wins over Saint Peter's Monday (70-55) and Stony Brook Wednesday (58-52).

Buffalo is looking for its first win of the campaign, following an 0-3 start, most recently falling at Vermont (73-55). This will be just the second all-time meeting between Buffalo and Fordham, with the Bulls taking the lone prior meeting 58-54 at the Rose Hill Gym back in 2016.

Fordham's offense has been led by Alexis Black who has tallied double figures in each of her first four games as a Ram, while scoring 20 or more in each of the last three games, averaging 21.0 points on the year, 24th best amongst all Division I players.

Black leads the nation in free throws with 26, after drawing 17 free throws en route to victory last time out, and also placed seventh in the country in overall points scored with 84 on the season already. Her 12 made three pointers are 12th most in the nation, and her 16 total assists place her 70th in the country as well.

Elsewhere for the Rams, their presence has been felt on defense, with Kaila Berry already collecting 10 steals, tied for 63rd most in the country, and Maysen Hill in her first four collegiate games has tallied five blocks, including three against Saint Peter's last week, 92nd most in the nation.

Fordham sits as one of the top teams in the A-10 at getting in the passing lanes once again this season, averaging 11.3 steals per game to rank third best in the conference. The Rams also place 25th nationally, averaging 18.0 offensive rebounds per game, and hold a +10.8 rebounding margin overall, 60th best in Division I, with their 43.0 rebounds per game also 90th best in that category.

The backend of a quick two-game road trip for the Rams will see them head across the George Washington Bridge Thursday night for a meeting with Seton Hall.
