Bronx, N.Y. – (October 9, 2025) – Winners of six in a row, the fifth-ranked Fordham Water Polo team (10-1, 4-0 MAWPC) is back in the pool this weekend with three matches at the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center. The Rams open the weekend with the annual Judge Cup match against Iona on Friday night, while hosting Navy and #20 George Washington on Saturday.
LAST TIME OUT
- The Rams posted a sweep of match on September 27th, defeating #13 Princeton, 19-16, and Wagner, 21-9.
- In the Princeton match, Andras Toth was the leading scorer for the Rams with six goals, two assists, and three steals, while Luca Silvestri netted three goals to go with four assists.
- Against Wagner, Toth was once again atop the Rams' scoresheet with seven goals and two assists with Luca Provenziani having four goals, two assists, and two steals.
SERIES HISTORY
- The Iona match is the annual Judge Cup game, honoring the memory of Dr. Francis X. Judge, who has deep ties to both water polo programs. In Judge Cup matches, Fordham is 8-3 and have held onto the Judge Cup since 2018. Iona's last Judge Cup win came in 2017 at Iona.
- Fordham has won the last 11 meetings against Navy, which includes the 2021 and 2023 MAWPC Championship matches. The last Navy win came in the 2019 MAWPC Championship.
- The Rams and Revolutionaries are tied at 18 in 36 all-time meetings between the two schools. The Rams have won the last eight meetings with George Washington's last win coming in 2019.

- Andras Toth was named MAWPC Player of the Week on September 29th after recording a combined 13 goals against Princeton and Wagner, while Balazs Berenyi picked up MAWPC Co-Defensive Player of the Week honors.
- Toth and Luca Provenziani were both named to USA Water Polo's Cutino Award Watch List.
- The Rams have won 48 consecutive MAWPC regular season games entering this season, while also having a 59-game win streak in any game against an MAWPC opponent.
- Through 11 games, Fordham is converting on 58% of its man-advantage opportunities (52-for-89).
- Andras Toth has a team-high 54 goals and 23 steals this season, while Luca Provenziani is the team leader in assists (42) and points (71).
- Barnabas Eppel (20) and Diego Tresa (21) have been a two-headed monster at the center position, drawing a combined 41 ejections.
- Reid Thorson was recognized as the inaugural recipient of the Eric Weber Award, which will be given every year to a returning student-athlete that exhibits outstanding leadership and athletic ability. The award winner is bestowed with the honor of wearing cap #7 for the next season, which was Weber's number during his playing days. The cap will also don Weber's initial's "EW" on the back.
