BRONX, N.Y. (Jan. 3, 2025) – The Fordham men's basketball team will return to action on Saturday afternoon in the Rose Hill Gym when it welcomes St. Bonaventure for a 2 p.m. tip.

The game will air on SNY (delayed to Saturday night at 9:00 p.m.) and ESPN+ with  Mike Watts and Andrew Bogusch on the call.  Lou Orlando and Chaz McAdams will narrate the action over the airwaves on 90.7 FM WFUV and the WFUV Sports YouTube page.

As of Friday afternoon, a very limited number of tickets are still on sale through the Fordham Ticket Office.  Fans are encouraged to arrive early in order to avoid any delays entering campus or the Rose Hill Gym.  Due to the Holiday Train Show at the New York Botanical Garden, fans are also encouraged to take public transportation or enter the campus' main gate from the north by taking Exit 8W for Mosholu Parkway off the Bronx River Parkway.

Fordham (8-6, 0-1 Atlantic 10) readies to welcome the Bonnies after falling to Saint Louis in its A-10 opener on New Year's Eve.  That 88-63 setback snapped a five-game winning streak for the Rams to close out non-conference play that saw Fordham eclipse the 80-point mark in five straight games for the first time since 1993-94.

Jackie Johnson III scored 14 points against the Billikens to lead the Rams in scoring for the 11th time in 14 games this season.  On the year, Johnson is averaging 18.2 points per game, good enough for second in the league.

Jahmere Tripp also finished in double figures against the Billikens, posting 12 points to go along with three assists and a pair of steals.

Abdou Tsimbila narrowly missed a double-double in the Rams' last outing, scoring nine points and grabbing nine rebounds.  The graduate student from Yaounde, Cameroon, ranks fourth on the program's career blocks list with 177 through 110 games.

St. Bonaventure is off to its best start in more than 50 years, improving to 13-1 with a win over VCU in its A-10 opener on Tuesday afternoon.  The last time the Bonnies won 13 of their first 14 games came in 1969-70, a season that ended with an appearance in the Final Four.

The Bonnies' lone loss of the season came against Utah State in the ESPN NIT Season Tip-Off.  Utah State is also 13-1 on the season.

In their most recent outing against VCU, a 77-75 victory, Melvin Council Jr. hit a go-ahead layup with three seconds remaining to break the tie and put St. Bonaventure ahead for good.  Council, a Wagner transfer, was one of two Bonnies alongside Noel Brown to finish the game with 20 points.  Saturday will be Council's second career appearance at the Rose Hill Gym, as he scored a game-high 21 points for Wagner in last season's opener, a 68-64 Fordham win.

Fordham and St. Bonaventure will face off for the 51st time in the history of the two programs.  The Bonnies hold a 32-18 edge in the series, but the Rams have won three of their last four matchups.  Last season, the road team emerged victorious in each of their two meetings.

Fordham is 10-15 all-time against St. Bonaventure in the Rose Hill Gym.
