NEW YORK – Kicking off an eight-week, 18-match league calendar this weekend, Fordham University Volleyball opens Atlantic 10 Conference play Friday and Saturday with a pair of matches against Saint Louis at the Rose Hill Gym.

Weekend Plans

The Rams take on the Billikens Friday at 5:00 p.m. before taking to the court once again Saturday at 2:00 p.m. with both matches available to stream live on ESPN+ as well as an international feed through the Atlantic 10. Live stats can be found at FordhamSports.com.

Double Trouble

On a tear to open the season, Whitley Moody has tallied six double-doubles in her last seven matches and for the season has averaged 3.63 kills per set and 3.33 digs per set.

Whitney Woodrow also joined the party with her fourth double-dip of the season last time out, posting 43 assists and 17 digs in a five-set win over Seton Hall. That match also marked Woodrow's third double-double in the past four games, and tied her season high for digs in 2024.

Recording her first of the season against Lafayette, Ryan Naumann would tally 10 assists and 18 digs against the Leopards, and enters the weekend leading the team from the libero spot with 3.62 digs per set.

Tatum Holderied would post her first career double-double with a career-high 10 kills against FDU where she also had a pair of solo blocks and eight block assists for 10 total blocks on the night.

Trouble at the Tape

After posting a season high 14.0 blocks as a team in their last game against FDU, the Rams have tallied 10 or more blocks on three occasions in 2024, and enter conference play averaging 2.10 blocks per set as a team.

Holderied paces the team with 27.0 total blocks, one of two Rams averaging over 1.0 blocks per set, alongside Lorenza Rosenkilde, at 1.13 and 1.07 blocks per set, respectively. Holderied has already amassed nine solo blocks, while in total blocks, both Moody and Kuyn have tallied 21.0 blocks thus far.

The Rose Hill Classic

In the first home opening weekend of 2024, the Rams bounced back from a straight set defeat to a strong Binghamton squad, defeating Seton Hall on Saturday afternoon in four sets.

Whitley Moody would pace the offense with eight kills against Binghamton on Friday, ahead of both Sophia Kuyn and Audrey Brown with six apiece. Leading the assist numbers was Whitney Woodrow with 15 of 23 for the Rams, while Ryan Naumann tallied 15 digs to lead the defense.

Brown would pace the offense Saturday with 17 kills, as one of three players in double-figures, along with Moody who had 15, and Lauryn Sweeney with 10 hammers. Woodrow would tally 42 assists along with a team-high 17 digs, recording a double-double alongside Moody who finished with 14 digs and also had five total blocks on defense. Saturday's victory also marked the first win over a BIG EAST opponent since defeating Georgetown in five sets at what was the 14th Edition of the Rose Hill Classic on Sept. 4, 2015.

Scouting the Billikens

The Billikens enter the conference side of the calendar at 5-7 on the year, after taking one of three matches at the Kwik Star Klassic last weekend, defeating Iowa in four sets. Addy Brus paces the offense at just under 4.00 kills per set, and defensively sits second on the team at 2.09 digs per set.
