Bronx, N.Y. – As the first week of 2024 Fordham football camp comes to a close we continue our position-by-position breakdown of the Rams with a look at the running backs.
Leading the Fordham ground game in 2024 will be senior
Julius Loughridge, a First Team All-Patriot League selection last fall when he rushed 207 times for 1,146 yards and ten touchdowns. He became eleventh player in Fordham history to rush for more than 1,000 yards in a season. Loughridge, who also caught 25 passes for 210 yards and two scores last year, was fourth in the Patriot League and eleventh in the NCAA FCS in rushing yards/game (104.2) and third in the Patriot League and 23rd in the NCAA FCS in rushing touchdowns.
Also back after missing most of his first season with the Rams due to an injury is junior
Ricky Parks. He gained 33 yards on four carries in the season opener at Albany before suffering the season-ending injury.
Other returners with experience are juniors
Mason Hatfield, who appeared in seven games as a sophomore in 2023, and
Jack Kaiser, who had 26 rushes for 73 yards and one touchdown last year, along with sophomores
Jamell James, who gained 148 yards on 25 carries as a freshman with one touchdown,
Jacob Rodriguez, who rushed 19 times for 97 yards with one score in 2023, and
Vinny Rugai, who saw limited action as a rookie last fall.
