Staten Island, N.Y. – (November 8, 2024) – The #3/4 Fordham water polo team kicked off a busy 24-hour span on Friday, posting a 20-8 road MAWPC match win over the Wagner Seahawks on Staten Island.
The win moves Fordham to 25-0 overall, 11-0 in the MAWPC.
The Rams were challenged in the first quarter, trailing 6-4, with Patrick Ray scoring twice for the Seahawks.
Fordham then got rolling in the second quarter, netting all five goals in the period for a 9-6 advantage. The trio of
Luca Silvestri,
Paul Armingol and
Lucas Nieto Jasnyeach recorded their second goal of the game in the period while
Barnabas Eppel and
Luca Provenziani had the other markers.
Another five goals were scored in the third quarter with six in the fourth for the 20-8 final, as the Rams held Wagner to just two goals over the final three quarters.
For Fordham,
Andras Toth posted four goals and four steals to lead the way, while Provenziani had three goals and four assists. Eppel and Nieto Jasny each had a hat trick with Nieto Jasny adding three more assists. In net,
Thomas Lercari had ten saves in three-plus quarters to go with an assist and a steal.
Fordham is right back in the pool on Saturday, November 9
th, hosting a home tripleheader against Bucknell, Mercyhurst, and Mt. St. Mary's at the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center..
