Baltimore, Md. – (November 3, 2024) – The second ranked Fordham water polo team finished up their road MAWPC weekend on Sunday n Baltimore, as the Rams swam past the Johns Hopkins Bluejays, 28-12, to improve to 24-0 overall, 10-0 in the MAWPC.
Fordham opened with a 7-2 lead on Johns Hopkins after the first quarter. The Rams had six different goal scorers in the period with
Jacopo Parrella leading the way with two.
The Rams continued to build on their lead with eight goals in the second quarter for a 15-5 edge, highlighted by a second quarter hat trick by
Luca Provenziani.
Fordham ended up adding 13 more goals in the second half for a 28-12 win, matching the team's season-high for goals scored in a game.
In all, 18 Rams found the back of the net. Provenziani and
Jagger McMannis led the way with hat tricks, while
Balazs Berenyi,
Paul Armingol, Parrella,
Lucas Nieto Jasny,
Brendan Cassidy, and
Marco Napolitano each scored twice in the match.
Fordham is back in the New York area next weekend with a road match at Wagner on Friday, November 8
th, while hosting a tripleheader at home on Saturday, November 9
th, against Bucknell, Mercyhurst, and Mt. St. Mary's.
