Fordham Game Notes
BRONX – The Fordham University Rams continue their 2024-25 season on Friday night, November 22, as they host the Drexel University Dragons in the historic Rose Hill Gym at 7:00 p.m. as part of the 2024 Sunshine Slam.
The game will be streamed on ESPN+ with Andrew Bogusch (PxP) and Jason Crafton (analyst) announcing as well as broadcast on WFUV (90.7 FM) and the
WFUV Sports YouTube page with Lou Orlando (PxP) and Nick Guzman (analyst) behind the mics.
Fordham enters the game with a 3-2 record after a 101-61 win over Georgia Court in the Rose Hill Gym on Tuesday night while Drexel is also 3-2 on the year after a 67-61 win at Fairfield on Tuesday.
Friday night's game will be the third meeting between the Rams and the Dragons on the hardwood, the first since 1994. Drexel has taken both of the previous meetings, a 64-57 win in the Rose Hill Gym in 1994 and a 70-65 victory in 1993 at Drexel.
Notes
• Senior guard
Jackie Johnson III is off to one of the best starts for a Fordham player in his first five games as a Ram.
• Johnson has scored 96 points over his first five games, the second most scored by a player in his first four games for Fordham (Eric Paschall netted 98 points in his first five games in 2014).
• Freshman center
Jaden Smith notched his first career double-double in just his third game with the Rams.
• Smith scored 14 points and added 13 rebounds in Fordham's win over Georgian Court on November 19.
• Smith is the first Fordham freshman to record a double-double since Joel Soriano did it in 2020 in his 25
th college game.
• Fordham grad student forward
Abdou Tsimbila was named to the 2024-25 Atlantic 10 Preseason All-Defensive team for the second straight year.
• This marks Tsimbila's second consecutive A-10 Preseason All-Defensive Team honor, as he also earned the distinction last October.
• Tsimbila has 168 career blocks at Fordham, fourth on the Rams' career list.
• The Rams are 26-18 against schools currently in the Coastal Athletic Conference.
• The Rams will travel to Dayton Beach, Fla., to continue play in the 2024 Sunshine Slam, facing Penn State on Monday at 4:00 p.m. and then either San Francisco or Clemson on Tuesday.
