Bridgeport, Pa. – (November 13, 2024) – The Mid-Atlantic Water Polo Conference (MAWPC) released its weekly awards on Wednesday with Fordham's
Luca Provenziani (Rome, Italy) being selected as Rookie of the Week. This is the fifth weekly award this year for Provenziani (Player – twice, Rookie – three times).
Provenziani had a solid weekend as Fordham finished the regular season at 28-0 overall, 14-0 in the MAWPC, and clinching the #1 seed at the MAWPC Championship. He netted 11 goals, eight assists, and four steals in four matches this past weekend.
He opened the weekend with three goals and four assists at Wagner, while having four goals, three assists, and two steals in a win over Bucknell. He then scored another hat trick against Mercyhurst to go with a goal, an assist, and two steals versus Mt. St. Mary's.
Provenziani and the rest of the Rams are on the road for their next two contests with both being exhibition games. They are at Connecticut College on November 15 and Brown on November 16, before heading to Annapolis, Maryland for the 2024 MAWPC Championship, November 22-24.
