San Jose, Calif. – (October 27, 2024) – The fifth ranked Fordham water polo team completed its first-ever California road trip sweep, finishing 6-0 on the trip after a 25-16 win over Air Force at the Julian Fraser Memorial Tournament.
Overall, the Rams improved to 21-0 on the year, the lone undefeated team in the NCAA.
The Rams came out firing in the opening quarter against the Falcons, scoring nine times for a 9-4 lead.
Andras Toth and
Luca Provenziani each had first quarter hat tricks, while
Lucas Nieto Jasny,
James Oriskovich, and
Balazs Berenyi had the other three markers.
Fodham extended the advantage to 13-6 by halftime, as Toth scored two more times with Berenyi and
Luca Silvestri also netting a goal in the frame.
The Rams added 12 more tallies in the second half for the 25-16 win.
Toth was the big performer of the match, posting six goals and four assists, while Provenziani had five goals and three assists. Berenyi added three goals and an assist with Silvestri having two goals and three assists.
The Rams come back East next weekend as their two games are on Saturday, November 2
nd, when they play at George Washington (12:00 PM) and at Navy (6:00 PM).
