The Flyers would take a commanding lead midway through the second set, though a resilient Fordham team would tally eight of the next 14 points to bring themselves back in, falling 25-18. In the third set, the Maroon and White would keep pace for the entirety of the set, never trailing by more than three until the final stages of the frame.
Fordham would draw level at 15-all after battling back prior to that, but Dayton would fire off a quick run to put the match out of reach to remain undefeated in league play this season.
