Bronx, N.Y. – (January 23, 2024) – It is a quick turnaround for the Fordham swimming & diving team following their meet at La Salle, as the Rams head to New Rochelle on Wednesday to face the Iona Gaels at the Hynes Center Pool.
The Fordham women head into Wednesday's meet with a 6-0 record after defeating La Salle on Saturday, 165-135. The Rams posted 11 event wins against the Explorers, led by
Emilie Krog and
Ainhoa Martin, who won two events each.
The Fordham men look to rebound from their first loss of the season on Saturday at La Salle by a 169-129 score. The Rams had five event wins on Saturday with
Guy Gropper winning twice.
Against Iona, Fordham has won 20 consecutive dual meets on the women's side, dating back to the 1995-96 season. The Gaels' last win over the Fordham women came in the 1994-95 season. Last year, Fordham won by a score of 183-106.
On the men's side, Fordham has a win streak over the Gaels, dating back into the 1980s. The Rams won last year's match-up, 175-108.
