BALTIMORE – The Fordham men's soccer team's match at UMBC ended prematurely on Friday night, as persistent lightning in the area forced the cancelation of the contest after just 20 minutes of action. The game will not be rescheduled.
At the time of the match's delay and subsequent cancelation, Fordham led 1-0 thanks to a header goal from
Liam Salmon, which would have been his second of the year.
Kai Griese picked up an assist with a pin-point cross from the left flank to find Salmon in front. Because the contest did not complete the 70
th minute, which is required for it to become official, the stats accumulated on Friday night will not count toward season-long totals.
The Rams will return to action on Monday afternoon when they host Loyola Maryland for a 4 p.m. kick-off from Moglia Stadium at Jack Coffey Field.
