Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham women's basketball head coach Bridgette Mitchell announced a fourth addition to her inaugural 2023-24 roster – incoming freshman guard
Miya Giles-Jones.
"I've known Miya since she was 16 years old." Coach Mitchell said, "She's grown so much since then and I am excited to be her coach and help her along her journey. Miya's athleticism, versatility, and physicality will make her an impact freshman."
Giles-Jones, a 6'0 guard from Fayetteville, N.C., recently wrapped up a decorated high school career at Terry Sanford, culminating in being a McDonald's All-American nominee. Giles-Jones finished her career as a four-time conference Player of the Year, two-time district Player of the Year, four-time All-State honoree, four-time All-District First Team selection, and 910 Female Player of the Year as a sophomore.
She joins the recently announced
graduate transfer trio of
Kailah Harris,
Emy Hayford, and
Mandy McGurk.
