Fordham’s Daniel Bucciero Finishes Season with Four-Hit Performance

St. Louis, Mo. – (May 20, 2023) – After hitting two home runs on Friday, Saint Louis' Cam Redding added to his total on Saturday, as he hit a three-run home run to spark a seven-run sixth inning to lead the Billikens to a series sweep of the Fordham Rams, 14-4, at the Billikens Sports Center.

Fordham started the scoring in the first, taking advantage of a Saint Louis miscue.  Daniel Bucciero singled with one out and moved to second when Peter DeMaria was hit by a pitch.  Zach Selinger then hit a ground ball back to the pitcher, which was thrown into center field, allowing Bucciero to score.

The Billikens answered with two runs in the second for a 2-1 edge, scoring a run on a bases loaded walk to Bergmann and an RBI-single by Moore.

The Rams quickly tied the game at two, as Ryan Thiesse reached on an error, moved to second on a single by Bucciero, and scored on a single by Selinger.

After Saint Louis re-took the lead in the bottom of the third on an RBI-double from Tyler Fogarty, the seesaw affair went in Fordham's direction in the fourth.  With two on and two out, Bucciero delivered a two-run single to put the Rams up, 4-3.

The score stayed that way until the sixth, when Saint Louis scored even times for a 10-4 lead, highlighted by three-run home runs by both Cam Redding and Corey Swanger.

The Billikens added four more runs to their total for the 14-4 final.

For Fordham, Bucciero finished 4-for-5 with a run scored and two RBI, while Thiesse walked twice and scored two runs.

The Rams end the year with a 19-36 record, 7-17 in the Atlantic 10.
