Bronx, N.Y. – The 2023 Fordham University football schedule was officially released today and it includes a game against an FBS opponent along with five home games on Jack Coffey Field.

Joe Conlin's Rams open the 2023 season with a trip to state capital to face the University at Albany Great Danes on August 26. The following week Fordham will host Wagner College in its home opener followed, a week later, with a trip to Buffalo to take on the University at Buffalo Bulls. It will be the 12th time over the past 13 years that Fordham will face an NCAA FCS school (a 2020 game at Hawaii was canceled due to COVID), with the Rams winning two of the games, a 30-29 triumph at Temple in 2013, and a 37-35 victory at Army West Point in 2015.

Fordham also has non-conference games listed with Stonehill College and Stony Brook University.

The Rams went 9-3 last year, 5-1 in the Patriot League, earning and NCAA FCS Championship at-large bid, Fordham's sixth NCAA FCS Championship appearance.

Fordham will play a six-game Patriot League schedule this fall, with home games against Bucknell, Lehigh, and defending league champions Holy Cross.

- 69th meeting between Fordham and Georgetown on the gridÂiron.
- The Rams lead the all-time series, which started in 1889, 42-23-3.
- Fordham has taken nine of the past ten meetings, including a 59-38 win on Jack Coffey Field last year, as Tim DeMorat threw four touchdown passes and Trey Sneed and Julius Loughridge each rushed for more than 100 yards.
- Fordham is 17-3 against Georgetown since the Hoyas joined the Patriot League in 2001.
- The Rams are 14-9-1 against Georgetown in Washington, D.C.
- The 64 varsity meetings with the Hoyas are the most against any opponent for the Rams.
- Georgetown was 2-9 in 2022, 1-5 in the Patriot League.

- The Rams have taken seven of the past nine meetings, including three of the last four on Jack Coffey Field.
- Tim DeMorat competed 26-of-37 passes for 499 yards and four touchdowns in last year's 40-28 Fordham win at Lehigh with MJ Wright catching four passes for 226 yards and two scores.
- The Mountain Hawks were 2-9 overall, 2-4 in the Patriot League, last season.

- Seventh meeting between Fordham and Stony Brook on the gridÂiron with the all-time series tied, 3-3.
- Fifth meeting on the NCAA FCS level as the first two meetings occurred on the NCAA Division III level.
- Fordham took last year's meeting, 45-14, on Jack Coffey Field as Tim DeMorat completed 27 of 39 passes for 371 yards and three touchdowns while Julius Loughridge rushed for 111 yards and two scores.
- Stony Brook competes in the CAA for football.
- Seawolves were 2-9 overall, 1-7 in the CAA, in 2022.

- 61st meeting between Fordham and Holy Cross on the gridiron.
- Annual Ram-Crusader Cup contest.
- The Rams are 12-11 against Holy Cross as the home team (7-6 on Jack Coffey Field), 9-16-1 at Holy Cross, 2-2-1 at the Polo Grounds and 1-1 at Yankee StadiÂum.
- Holy Cross has won the past three Patriot League titles.
- The Crusaders went 12-1 overall, 6-0 in the Patriot League, in 2022.

- The first four meetings between the Rams and Bison were played at the Polo Grounds with Fordham winning three of the four.
- The Bison were 3-8 overall, 2-4 in the Patriot League, last fall.

- Chase Edmonds set the Patriot League record with 359 rushing yards against the Leopards in 2017.

- The Rams knocked off the Raiders, 52-38, in the regular season final last year on Jack Coffey Field as Tim DeMorat completed 33 of 51 passes for 454 yards and tied a school record with six touchdown passes and Trey Sneed rushed for a career-high 230 yards and one score.
- Fordham has taken two of the past three meetings.
