Jacksonville, Fla. – (March 3, 2023) – The ball was flying out of Harmon Stadium on Friday night, as the Fordham Rams and North Florida Ospreys combined to hit nine home runs with the Ospreys coming away with the 13-7 victory.
North Florida opened the scoring in the first when Gabriel Esquivel hit a three-run home run to center.
Fordham answered with a long ball of its own, as
Will Findlay hit a solo home run off the scoreboard in left for his second of the year. Findlay cashed in again in the fourth to cut the deficit to 3-2, driving an RBI-single to left center to score
Daniel Bucciero, who reached on a double.
The Ospreys then nicked the Rams for four runs in the bottom of the fourth to take a 6-2 lead.
Fordham chipped away with another long ball in the top of the fifth, this time a solo home run by
Zach Selinger, his first of the year down the left field line to make it a 6-3 score.
North Florida then hit three home runs in the bottom of the fifth to open up a 10-3 advantage. Esquivel hit a solo shot for his second home run of the game followed by a solo shot by Peyton Sybrandt for back-to-back home runs. Later in the inning, Dallen Leach hit a two-run home run.
Leach wasn't finished as he hit a three-run home run to left in the bottom of the seventh to make it a 13-3 score.
The home runs continued to leave the park in the eighth and ninth innings, as Selinger and Findlay each hit their second home runs of the game to make it 13-5.
Chris Genaro closed out the scoring in the ninth with a two-run triple for the Rams for the 13-7 final.
For Fordham, Findlay was 3-for-4 with two home runs and three RBI, while Selinger was also 3-for-4 with two home runs, three runs scored, and two RBI.
The same two teams match up for a doubleheader on Saturday, starting at 2:05 PM.
