Bronx, N.Y. – This 2022-23 winter has proven unprecedented for the New York City area, taking a historic amount of time to bring even just four-tenths of an inch of accumulating snow to Central Park (though there was a White Out in the Bronx tonight) and recording above-average temperatures every single day of the same month for the first time ever. Some are blaming it on climate change while others are theorizing that it's a product of la niña. A third option may be the red-hot play of the Fordham men's basketball team. Despite coming from the north, St. Bonaventure couldn't cool down the Rams who won their third straight and eighth of the last nine with a 78-63 Atlantic 10 win in the Rose Hill Gym.
With the win, Fordham improves to 21-5 overall, 9-4 in the Atlantic 10, while St. Bonaventure falls to 13-14 overall, 7-7 in the conference.
Grad student guard
Darius Quisenberry led the Rams with 15 points and he added five rebounds and six assists, while junior guard
Antrell Charlton netted nine points and dished out a season-high eight assists.
The Rams led by seven at the break, 37-30, but the Bonnies cut the lead back to five, 44-39, early in the second.
A Charlton long jumper started a 12-3 run as Fordham took a 56-42 lead on a
Khalid Moore layup with 11:44 left.
The Ram led by 14 again later in the game, 62-48, and ran off nine straight points to take a commanding 71-48 lead on a
Kyle Rose three-pointer with 6:54 on the clock.
