Keeping things close in the early going, Fordham and Loyola-Chicago evenly traded the first 10 points of the frame, before the visitors took a brief lead. Fordham would quickly answer to draw back level, and from there would keep within two points for the remainder of the set. The Rams would take as much as a two-point lead themselves, but Loyola would take the match just into extra points to take set one 26-24.
Gaining momentum in the second set, the Ramblers would take the lead in the early stages of the period, forcing the home side to battle back. Fordham would work its way back into the match a short while later, scoring four straight points midway through to cut into the deficit. A strong run by the visitors late would give Loyola a victory in set two as well to go up 2-0 in the match.
Set three would see the two sides duke it out once again, going point-for-point to start the set, before Loyola began to pull away as the frame progressed. The Ramblers would use a late run to pull away and capture a victory in set three to take the win and the match.
The Rams will host their final home match at the Rose Hill Gymnasium this season when they take on the Ramblers again tomorrow afternoon, with first serve set for 2:00 p.m. following Senior Day festivities.
