New London, Conn. – (November 10, 2023) – The 15
th-ranked Fordham water polo team got the final weekend of the regular season off to a good start, posting a 23-3 win over Connecticut College on Friday night in New London, Connecticut.
The Rams came out firing, scoring six times in the first quarter and five times in the second quarter to lead 11-0 at the half. Ten different Rams scored in the half with
Christos Loupakis as the lone Ram to score twice.
Fordham tacked on five more in the third quarter and seven in the fourth for the 23-3 win.
Gabriel Guinane did the most damage, netting four of his five tallies in the fourth quarter.
Guinane had a game-high and season-high five goals to go with two steals and an assist, while
Jagger McMannis had three goals and two steals. Loupakis,
Reid Thorson, and
Berk Oral also had two goals apiece on the night for Fordham. In net,
Riccardo Di Giuseppe and
Panayiotis Giannas each played a half with Di Giuseppe having three saves and Giannas making eight stops.
Fordham has a quick turnaround for the team's regular season finale at the Rams play at #20 Brown on Saturday at 12:30 PM.
