SERIES HISTORY: Fordham and Manhattan renew the Battle of the Bronx series on Tuesday for the 49
th time. The Rams lead the all-time series with a 30-15-3 record, however Manhattan has won each of the last three match-ups. Fordham's last win over the Jaspers came in 2017.
Fordham has only met UMBC twice before, falling to UMBC in 1990, while playing to a 1-1 draw in 2016.
The Rams and Greyhounds will meet for only the fifth time with Loyola holding a 3-1 edge in the series. The teams first met in 1989 with the second contest being the 1996 NCAA Play-In game, that Fordham won by a 3-2 score. The teams also met in 2007 and 2008, both Loyola wins.

LAST TIME OUT: In the early part of the 2022 season, the newcomers to the Fordham men's soccer team have made their presence felt and Friday was no exception. Graduate student
Timo Hummrich and freshman
Nathan Simes, both in their first seasons at Rose Hill, each had a goal and an assist, as the Rams knocked off LIU, 2-1, at LIU Soccer Park.
Fordham opened the scoring in the 26
th minute.
Nathan Simes had the ball near the LIU endline and cut across into the box. He put a cross toward the front of the net, which
Timo Hummrich knocked into the net for his first marker as a Ram.
The next crucial moment of the match came in the 49
th minute, when LIU's Emil Jaaskelainen picked up his second card of the game, leaving the Sharks down a player of the remainder of the contest.
LIU then caught a break in the 53
rd minute, as a handball was called in the box, awarding a penalty kick to the Sharks. Michael Mollica stepped to the spot and scored inside the left post to knot the score at one.
The score remained tied until the 88
th minute when Fordham struck for the game-winning tally. Hummrich made a run toward the box, slipping a through ball to Simes at the six-yard box. Simes quickly chipped the ball past the keeper for his first goal of the season.
In a series that dates back to 1952, it was Fordham's first victory over LIU since 2000.
