Chicago, Ill. – Fordham volleyball took on new Atlantic 10 foe Loyola Chicago for the first time on Friday evening but fell in three sets, 16-25, 14-25, 23-25. With the loss, the Rams fall to 6-8 overall and 0-3 in league play.
Fordham struggled to get in a rhythm against the Ramblers over the opening two sets as the hosts controlled the tempo most of the way. In the third, the Rams erased several early deficits, answering runs with runs and staying within striking distance. The visitors got within one late, 24-23, thanks to a pair of errors in attack by the hosts, but Karlie McNabb saw the match out with a kill.
Whitley Moody led the way for Fordham in attack with 10 kills, hitting .237 and adding seven digs and a pair of blocks.
Aria De La Rosa and
Chloe Pejouan combined for 10 kills and nine blocks, the latter with five denials while hitting a team-best .364 on 11 attacks.
Megan Brzozowski posted 17 assists, four digs, two kills, and a block, while
Mallory Lipski racked up 11 digs, two assists, and her fifth career kill.
Zoe Talabong chipped in 10 digs, two kills, and an ace,
Aneliesa Cartledge added an ace, and
Ryan Naumann came off the bench for seven digs and a trio of assists.
