Fotis Kokosioulis Named FedEx Ground FCS and Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week

Senior wide receiver set Patriot League mark with 320 receiving yards on Saturday

FCS/The Analyst Release | Patriot League Release

Bronx, N.Y. – Fordham senior wide receiver Fotis Kokosioulis has been named FedEx Ground FCS Offensive Player of the Week as well as Patriot League Offensive Player of the Week it was announced today.

Kokosioulis caught 13 passes for 320 yards and four touchdowns in a 59-52 loss at Ohio University on Saturday. He broke the former League mark of 319 by Lehigh's Jason Cristino against Lafayette in 1991 and the former Fordham mark of 282 set by Sam Ajala versus Yale in 2013. His four touchdown receptions also tied the Fordham single game record set by Javarus Dudley at Towson in 2003 and matched by Jason Caldwell at Cornell in 2007, and Sam Ajala vs. Yale in 2013.

To put Kokosioulis' 320-yard game in perspective, there are currently three NCAA FBS teams that haven't thrown for 320 yards this season (UMass, San Diego State, and Air Force) along with four FCS schools (The Citadel, Cornell, Dartmouth, and Sam Houston State).

On the year, Kokosioulis, who set another school record this year with 15 receptions at Monmouth, has 44 catches for 681 yards and seven touchdowns. His 681 receiving yards are more than 16 NCAA FBS teams and 42 NCAA FCS teams. Kokosioulis lead the NCAA FCS in receptions, receptions/game (11.0), receiving yards/game (170.8), and receiving touchdowns.

Over his career, Kokosioulis has 170 receptions for 2,363 yards and 28 touchdowns. He is tied for third all-time at Fordham in career touchdown receptions and is sixth in career receiving yards and seventh in career receptions.

Joining Kokosioulis in receiving national accolades this week was senior quarterback Tim DeMorat, who was named Honorable Mention FedEx Ground FCS Offensive Player of the Week. In the Ohio game, DeMorat completed 27 of 35 passes for a career-high 503 yards and six touchdowns. It was his second six-touchdown game of the year, the third of his career. He tied the school record with the six touchdown tosses set by Kevin Eakin at Rhode Island in 2003 and matched by Mike Nebrich versus Penn in 2014.

On the year DeMorat has completed 112 of 164 passes for 1,805 yards and 22 touchdowns. He leads the NCAA FCS in passing yards/game (451.2), passing touchdowns, and passing efficiency (201.4) and his 503-yard game at Ohio is the best single game in the NCA AFCS this season.

The Rams return to action on Saturday, October 1, as they host the Georgetown University Hoyas on Jack Coffey Field for a Patriot League contest at 1:00 p.m.
