Demetri Skoumbakis with one second left on the clock to give the #17
th-ranked Pride a 2-1 decision over the Fordham Rams at Hofstra Soccer Stadium in Hempstead, N.Y.
After a scoreless half that saw Fordham outshoot Hofstra 5-2, it was the Pride that cracked the scoreboard first in the 63
rd minute off a set piece. Stefan Mason took a corner kick that found Mason Tatafu for a header goal and a 1-0 lead.
The score stayed that way until the 84
th minute when Fordham knotted the game at one.
Sebastian Fabrin dished a pass to the top right corner of the box, finding
Ben Shepherd. Shepherd deked a defender and placed a perfect shot to the top left corner of the net, just under the bar and over the outstretched hands of Hofstra goalkeeper Wessel Speel for his first tally as a Ram.

As the clocked ticked inside of 30 seconds, the Rams played a short corner into the box that was caught by Speel. Speel let loose a punt to midfield, which eventually saw the Pride on the break with 10 seconds remaining. The final rush ended with the ball on the foot of Hofstra's Eliot Goldthrop, who was able to slip a shot past Fordham goalkeeper

Skoumbakis finished with three saves in the match for the Rams, while Speel had three for the Pride. All three of Speel's saves came on shots from Fordham's
Daniel Espeleta, who had a match-high six shots.
Fordham will next be in action on Sunday, August 28
th, when the Rams host #16 Providence for a 1:00 PM start.
