Washington, D.C. – Fordham softball fell, 3-1, in Sunday's weekend finale at George Washington. The Rams fall to 9-13 overall and 1-4 to begin Atlantic 10 play.
The offense got off to a bright start once again, with
Brianna Pinto leading the game off with an opposite-field double and scoring on
Rachel Hubertus' single, but Sierra Lange kept them off the board the rest of the way.
Devon Miller allowed just three runs over 3.2 frames, striking out five, the damage coming in the third and fourth innings on a pair of home runs, before giving way to
Bailey Enoch, who allowed four baserunners but no runs over 2.1 innings, striking out one.
Hubertus led the offense by reaching base safely all three trips to the plate, with two singles and a walk, with Pinto and Miller notching the other two hits and
Julia Martine and
Michaela Carter each walking once. Neither team committed an error.
Fordham returns home to host Lehigh for a midweek doubleheader on Wednesday beginning at 2 p.m.
