Bronx, N.Y. – (November 2, 2022) – Fordham's
Lucas Nieto Jasny netted a game-high five goals, while
Luca Silvestri added four goals, as the 18
th-ranked Rams down the Iona Gaels in the annual Judge Cup game by a score of 20-11 at the Col. Francis B. Messmore Aquatic Center.
With the win, Fordham has won 12 straight games to improve to 20-6.
The Rams jetted out to a 6-2 lead after the first quarter, led by a pair of goals by
Nir Gross.
The second quarter was then taken over by Fordham's
Lucas Nieto Jasny, who netted three of his five goals in the quarter to extend the Rams lead to 12-5.
Fordham closed out the game by outscoring the Gaels, 8-6, over the final two quarters to record the 20-11 win.
For Fordham, Nieto Jasny netted a game-high five goals, while
Luca Silvestri had four goals and two steals. Gross finished with two goals, two assists, and two steals, while
George Papanikolaou dished out six assists with three steals. In net,
Thomas Lercari had eight saves over the first three quarters, while
Riccardo Di Giuseppe had five saves in the final quarter.
The Rams now hit the road for their next three games, starting on Saturday, November 5
th at #19 George Washington at noon, while taking on Navy at 8:00 PM.
