Chicago, Ill. – Fordham volleyball fell in three sets at Loyola Chicago on Saturday, 19-25, 20-25, 23-25, although senior libero
Mallory Lipski set a new school three-set record with 25 digs. With the loss, the Rams fall to 6-9 overall and 0-4 in league play through two weekends.
Fordham battled throughout, getting close late in the first two sets, and held a brief lead late in the third set, but the Ramblers were able to push through to secure the win.
Whitley Moody led the way with nine kills, adding 10 digs and a block, while
Audrey Brown added eight efficient kills (.333) and two digs, and
Zoe Talabong chipped in seven kills, nine digs, a block, and an ace. Both
Lauren Arzuaga and
Aria De La Rosa posted four kills, the former blocking three attacks, the latter two, one solo.
Mackenzie Colvin and
Megan Brzozowski shared setting duties, with 15 and 13, respectively, and combined for 11 digs, with Colvin adding an ace.
Lipski finished with 25 digs, plus six assists and an ace, to set the new three-set program record. Previously, Stephanie Frost had held it with 22 in 2006 before Morgan Williams matched it once a year between 2017-19. The Louisville native is second all-time with 3.68 digs per set, behind only Williams, and is currently sixth with 1,083 career digs.
