Bronx, N.Y. – The Fordham women's basketball team got back in the win column with a 55-35 win over Saint Joseph's at home on Wednesday night, the team's fourth victory of 18 points or more. With the result, the Rams improve to 14-5 overall and 5-2 in Atlantic 10 action, while the Hawks fall to 6-11 and 2-3, respectively. The game will re-air on SNY on Thursday at 2 p.m. and Friday at noon.

The Hawks started out sprightly, taking three early leads in the contest, the final at the 3:11 mark on a Talya Brugler layup to put the Hawks up 8-6. From that moment until halftime, Saint Joseph's netted just two further points – a fastbreak Brugler layup two minutes into the second quarter – as the Rams outscored their opponent 16-2. That run went up three more on
Anna DeWolfe's second half-opening triple, but Mackenzie Smith stopped the run moments later with a jumper.
Saint Joseph's scored 12 in the third quarter but Fordham scored 23 on 58.3% shooting, 4-of-6 from behind the arc, with DeWolfe accounting for 10. Saint Joseph's shot just 21.4% in the fourth but hit 6-of-8 freebies to take the quarter, 13-10.
DeWolfe notched her 12
th 20-point game of the season with a game-high 22 points on 10-of-19 shooting, adding four assists, two rebounds, and two steals over 37 minutes.
Asiah Dingle contributed across the board with nine points, six boards, a game-high five assists, and four steals.
Megan Jonassen grabbed six of her game-high seven rebounds in the first half, three coming on the offensive end, to go with four points, while
Kaitlyn Downey chipped in eight points, four rebounds, three dimes, two steals, and a block in 27 minutes.
Kendell Heremaia scored both of her points from the charity stripe but added three steals. Off the bench,
Maranda Nyborg enjoyed yet another two-block game to go with five points and an assist.
Fordham shot 39.6% from the field, 27.8% from distance, and 8-of-9 from the line, while the Hawks were held to 28.3%, 15.4%, and 7-of-10, respectively. The rams won the rebounding battle, 32-27, with a 10-9 advantage on the offensive glass. The teams combined for 40 turnovers, Saint Joseph's tallying 21, with both teams notching 11 steals and four blocks. Fordham scored 24 points off turnovers and 11 second-chance points.
The Rams host St. Bonaventure on Saturday at 2 p.m. on ESPN+ and WFUV.
